Valerie Nowottnick, ACP, Owner of Paralegal Consultants, brings over 30 years legal experience to the firm. Valerie began her legal career as early as high school when she was approached by her high school principal to work one day a week in the Queen Anne’s County State’s Attorney’s Office. As part of her work release program in her senior year, Valerie worked on Fridays assisting the State’s Attorney with preparation of legal documents, scheduling appointments, managing his trial calendar and other legal assistant duties. This experience set the stage for Valerie’s subsequent career as a paralegal and in law office management. Since that time, Valerie has held positions in a variety of law offices, all of which provided her valuable opportunities to develop a vast knowledge of many areas of law.
In 2009, Valerie successfully completed the two-day CLA/CP examination as administered by NALA and is now entitled to use the “CLA/CP” professional credential. Established in 1976, the CLA/CP examination program is a voluntary professional credentialing program developed by the National Association of Legal Assistants and administered by a board composed of paralegals, members of the American Bar Association and members of the field of education active in paralegal training.
In 2011, Valerie successfully completed the Advanced Certified Paralegal course in Discovery through NALA and earned her “ACP” credential.
